TitleWorkshop on “Intellectual Property Rights”

In today’s globally competitive environment, intellectual property has become increasingly important. In order to create awareness on IPR, one day Faculty Development Program was organized in JSSATE on 8th June 2017. The workshop was attended by 41 faculty members belonging to various departments of JSSATE along with the faculty members from BMS College of Engineering and RNS Institute of Technology.

The following are the objectives of the program: • To provide cognizance on creation, protection and commercialization of intellectual property. • To encourage faculty members to file patents.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Mrityunjaya V. Latte, Principal, JSSATE. In the morning session, Dr Dinesh acquainted the faculty members on Intellectual Property Rights with an overview on Ideation Techniques. In the afternoon session anatomy of patent & Indian patent filing forms were discussed in detail. Followed by plethora of examples on patents & patent applications. The preparation of invention disclosure & writing claims were covered as a part of hands-on session which guided & motivated the faculty members to file patents.
